About Hallsville

First settled in 1834, Hallsville, Missouri, located in the township of Rocky Fork in Boone County, was known primarily as an agrarian community.

Nestled in the heart of the nation's heartland, the vast farm ground surrounding this close-knit community was known for its gently rolling pastures, home to large herds of cattle and annual crops of soybeans and corn.

Frontiersmen, primarily of German, English and Irish descent, initially came to Hallsville to establish farms. However, they soon began to trap and hunt the abundant wildlife inhabiting the large spans of deciduous forest and plentiful creeks surrounding the town.

Restored historical churches, cemeteries, and downtown buildings celebrate Hallsville's rich past and point to its bright future. Much of the rolling farmland has given way to scenic residential neighborhoods, but the pioneering spirit, family values, and Midwestern work ethic on which Hallsville was founded, remain.
